Abstract:

This workshop will delve into cutting-edge developments in particle physics aimed at advancing our understanding beyond the Standard Model (SM). While the SM has provided a robust framework for describing elementary particles and their interactions, evidenced by its success up to TeV-scale energies at the LHC and the 2012 discovery of the Higgs boson by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, it leaves several profound questions unanswered. The workshop will explore recent theoretical advancements and experimental results from the LHC with a focus on Higgs boson, top quark, and bottom quark physics, alongside pivotal topics in Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics, such as dark matter and baryogenesis. By bringing together experts in these fields, the workshop aims to foster discussions on potential extensions of the SM above the electroweak scale, addressing key challenges in particle physics and the search for new phenomena that could illuminate the mysteries of dark matter and the origin of matter-antimatter asymmetry.

Abstract:

From the famous Noether's theorem, we know that symmetries and conserved quantities are two sides of the same coin. In fact, this theorem states that we can associate a conserved quantity (conserved charge) with every continuous global symmetry. A natural question arises: can we also associate conserved charges with local continuous symmetries (such as those found in electromagnetic and gravitational theories)? The answer is that a certain class of these symmetries can indeed be associated with conserved charges. One method of associating charges with these symmetries is through the method of covariant phase space (although this method also works for global symmetries). In essence, this method can be considered a generalization of canonical mechanics (the principle of least action) constructed in a covariant way (independent of the choice of time orientation). In this talk, we will first provide a relatively simple overview of this method. Then, considering the fluctuations at the boundaries, we will extend this method. Finally, we will briefly discuss the compatibility of this approach with the first law of thermodynamics for black holes and the Gibbs-Duhem relation.

Abstract:

The pre-injector of the Iranian Light Source Facility consists of a radiofrequency electron gun, longitudinal and transverse focusing magnets, linear accelerators, and several other ancillary parts. Since the emittance of the ILSF electron beam at the end of the linear accelerators reaches about 8 mm-mrad, we intend to achieve a lower emittance by designing an electrostatic electron gun. Also, electrostatic electron gun pre-injectors do not require alpha magnets and instead have several beam bunchers, contributing to this type's lower emittance.

Reducing the emittance in the electron pre-injector does not have much effect on reducing the emittance in the storage ring. However, the more we can minimize the beam emittance at the beginning of its production, the better. Because the beam emittance may gradually increase along the path. Reducing the emittance of the pre-injector leads to a reduction in the dimensions of the vacuum chamber and the opening of the magnets in the booster ring, and reduces the cost of the magnets and their energy consumption.
In this study, we try to design a high-current electrostatic electron gun with low emittance and investigate the electron beam dynamics and beam emittance with the SPIFFE code and GPT code.

Abstract:
The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) promises to revolutionize our understanding of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) by providing high-precision data over a vast kinematic range. This lecture will explore two complementary studies showcasing the transformative impact of simulated EIC data on parton distribution functions (PDFs) and the precision determination of the strong coupling constant. We will examine how EIC pseudodata significantly reduce PDF uncertainties, particularly in the large-x, addressing long-standing limitations of previous collider datasets like those from HERA. Additionally, we highlight the precision improvements in the strong coupling constant achieved by combining HERA and EIC datasets in next-to-next to-leading order QCD analyses. These advancements are pivotal for refining Standard Model predictions and probing physics beyond the Standard Model.

Abstract:

In this talk, I aim to draw attentions to the importance of research on different aspects of hadrons as nonperturbative objects made of quarks and gluons. In particular, introducing the interactions of hadrons with different currents (electromagnetic, weak, strong and graviton-like!) I will discuss how can we get knowledge on the structure of matter, investigate some effects in SM & BSM physics, search for dark matter & dark energy and make scenarios to address the matter-antimatter asymmetry!

Abstract:
In this talk, I present a three-dimensional quasi-static model for high brightness beam dynamics simulation in RF/DC photoinjectors, RF linacs, and similar devices on parallel computers. Although the paper is a little old, I found the idea very interesting and, of course, it is one of the remarkable papers in this field. In this model, electrostatic space-charge forces within a charged particle beam are calculated self-consistently at each time step by solving the three-dimensional Poisson equation in the beam frame and then transforming back to the laboratory frame. When the beam has a large energy spread, it is divided into a number of energy bins or slices so that the space-charge forces are calculated from the contribution of each bin and summed together. Image-charge effects from conducting photocathode are also included efficiently using a shifted-Green function method. For a beam with large aspect ratio, e.g., during emission, an integrated Green function method is used to solve the three-dimensional Poisson equation. Using this model, the authors studied beam transport in one Linac Coherent Light Sources photoinjector design through the first traveling wave linac with initial misalignment with respect to the accelerating axis.

Abstract:
In this colloquium, I'll talk about the chiral effective field theory is used to investigate the spin singlet channel 1S0 of proton-proton (pp) scattering according to the new suggested power counting. For this purpose, the pp zero scattering amplitude is reproduced by inserting one pion exchange at leading order (LO) and the Coulomb interaction between protons at next-to-leading order (NLO). This leads to a systematic improvement up to NLO compared to the result obtained from Nijm93 potential model.

Abstract:

The proton-radius puzzle refers to the discrepancy observed in measurements of the proton's charge radius when using different methods. This inconsistency has prompted extensive research and debate within the physics community, as it challenges the understanding of quantum electrodynamics and the fundamental properties of protons. In the present study, we determine the charge and magnetic radii of the proton and neutron through a global analysis of the generalized parton distributions (GPDs) at zero skewness for the first time. Our results challenge the measurements or analyses in which the nucleon's radii are extracted considering just a particular experiment or observable, or using only data points covering particular kinematic regions. We emphasize that simultaneous analysis of all available experimental data related to the radii of the nucleons would be preferable to determine their exact values.
The final results obtained from our analysis by this way are: rpE=0.8558±0.0135 fm, rpM=0.8268±0.0533 fm, =−0.1181±0.0270 fm2, and rnM=0.8367±0.0845 fm.
